About Us
Who We Are
Hope Kingdom church is a new, non-denominational church in the Metro Detroit area. We are a community of believers committed to helping people heal from their past, prepare for their future, and discover Jesus—the hope that transforms everything. Our heart beats for young adults, but we are intentional in creating a space where all can belong. We believe church should be both a refuge and a launching pad—a place where you can rest in God's presence and be equipped to live out your faith in the real world. Through sincere worship, powerful teaching, and authentic relationships, we are building a house that reflects God’s Kingdom here on Earth as it is in Heaven. We embrace the truth of God’s word and the leading of His Spirit, knowing that transformation happens when both are alive in our lives. At Hope Kingdom Church, you’ll find real hope, real community, and most importantly, real Jesus.
Mission
To consistently help people heal from where they’ve been and overcome their past, while preparing and equipping them for where they’re going—by (re)presenting Christ Jesus, the Hope of Glory. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Vision
Our vision is simple: to consistently inspire positive change in individuals and communities through the teaching of loving God and loving your neighbor as yourself. We aim to strengthen families that uplift their neighborhoods, support businesses that reflect God’s love, and empower youth to exceed expectations and become a resource of hope for a healthier future. We do this by being a church that not only uses the four walls to recharge, but also focuses our attention on outside impact. (Ephesians 4:15-16)
Ministries
At Hope Kingdom Church, ministries are more than programs—they’re pathways to live out our faith together. Each ministry exists to serve, build, and connect people to Jesus and one another. Wherever or whatever your strengths may be, there’s a place for you to grow and make an impact.
Our Church Scripture
God decided to let his people know just how rich and glorious that truth is. That secret truth, which is for all people, is that Christ lives in you, his people. He is our hope for glory. So we continue to tell people about Christ. We use all wisdom to counsel every person and teach every person. We are trying to bring everyone before God as people who have grown to be spiritually mature in Christ.Colossians 1:27-28 ERV
Our Leadership
Pastor Demarcus
Demarcus Smith is the Lead Pastor and founder of Hope Kingdom Church. With a heart for restoration and a passion for seeing lives transformed by Jesus, he blends Biblical truth with real-life application to help people heal, grow, and walk in purpose. Drawing from years of ministry, music, and leadership experience, Demarcus is committed to building a church where everyone can encounter sincere worship, powerful teaching, and authentic community. He enjoys time with his wife, Keisha; their children; and the occasional superhero movie (Superman always wins).
Lady K
Keisha Smith, affectionately known as Lady K, serves alongside her husband in leading Hope Kingdom Church. Her heart for people, gift of hospitality, and wisdom in ministry make her a steady source of encouragement and strength. As a devoted wife and mother, she is passionate about creating spaces where women (especially bonus moms), families, and individuals can thrive in their faith and discover their God-given potential. Outside of ministry, Keisha enjoys quality time with loved ones, exploring creative projects, and keeping the pastor on schedule.
Elliott Joseph
Elliott Joseph serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Head Deacon of Hope Kingdom Church, bringing a wealth of experience and a steady, detail-focused leadership style to the team. With a diverse background in dentistry, pharmaceuticals, and hotel management, Elliott combines professionalism with a heart for ministry. A graduate of Southfield High, he is a gifted musician—skilled on piano and a trained vocalist—who has served as both a musical director and deacon in previous churches. His quiet demeanor is balanced by a keen attentiveness and a deep commitment to seeing the vision of Hope Kingdom Church come to life. Outside of ministry, Elliott enjoys music, meaningful conversations, and has a soft spot for his favorite superhero, Booster Gold. He was honored to stand as a groomsman in Pastor Demarcus and Lady Keisha’s wedding, marking a friendship and brotherhood that spans decades.
